winding speedo back (got recondioned intstrument cluster) 700 1989

My petrol gauge was not working, so I tracked down a second-hand instrument cluster for my 89 740. Put it in, all fine.

Except this speedo has done about 150,000 more kilometres than I had! I would like to "wind it back".

Is this possible? Or is it possible to swap these intruments over?

    How about just swapping the fuel guage into your old dash unit ?
