Deck Lid spring tension 1800

Listees:
This may be a weird question, but here goes. Can the deck lid spring
tension be adjusted to hold the deck lid up better than it currently
does? Am going to re-install the luggage rack on deck lid. Could the
long rods be twisted somehow to give more holding strength in the up
position? Can't wait for the responses to this one. ;-)

    A) No, I don't think there is a provision for adjustment. They are fixed

    B) Even if they were adjustable, I wouldn't try. They are VERY easily broken, and hard to find. Are both of yours still in one piece? If so, consider yourself lucky.

    Happy motoring!

      Matt:
Thanks for the response and info. Yes; they are intact and hold the lid up very well...just don't think the added weight of the rack will hack it.
