Dist. gear pin, too long 200 1986

Has anyone bought a new distributor pin for a 1986 B230F? The Volvo PN is "138948 lock pin". This holds the drive gear at the base of the distributor. But it's nearly 1/8-inch too long and slightly skinnier.

I assume peening-over a steel pin this much is out of the question.

Any thoughts? (The Volvo parts guy double-checked the number.)

two different types of distributor were fitted to B230F engines. one for 200-series, another for 700/900-series. you have got the locking pin just for the other one, i guess...

Yes, that's what I thought. I'll try another dealer - I may get a better parts guy.
