please help 1990 740 volvo turbo 700 1990

My car would start but not run, except when it wanted too. I got code 121 in #2 and code 214 in #6. I replaced the MAF Sensor but still get the same code. Any help in finding the problem? Is code 214 in #6 the RPM Sensor and can you tell me where it is if that is the code? Or just give me any suggestions please help. I have had no vehicle for 2 weeks, need a job to pay for all the parts.
Thanks
Janet

The rpm sensor in 1990 740s is subject to failure (more information in the FAQ about this) and can be replaced inexpensively. It is the cause of many no-hot-start problems. Check your fuel injection relay for solder cracks as well. Another fault is the radio suppression relay, which you can test by swapping leads with the identical cooling fan relay on the passenger side strut tower below the coolant reservoir.
