940 Premium Sound: Aftermarket radio has 4 speaker outputs, car has 6 speakers 900 1993

Hi,
I enjoy skimming throught the posts and answers. I don't know how all us "askers" could ever repay the knowledge acquired here.
Here's a topic not often discussed on the brickboard: car audio.
I recently traded up from a 245 to a 945 (with premium sound).
It's got the common problem with the volume control (moving the knob causes excessive static and speakers cutting out). I tried some contact cleaner but that didn't work.
Luckily, a friend gave me a used Sony XPlod in good condition. I know I'll have to bypass the built-in amp to connect the LF, RF, LR and RR speakers.
Here's the prob: The factory Volvo radio has two extra wires that connect to the dash speakers. Does anyone know if the Sony radio has pinout wires to 6 speakers? If it doesn't how would you connect these? Just splice the wires for LF and RF?
Thanks in advance. I hope I never have to use half the things I've learned here.

If yer 940 had the OEM CR-814 reciever in it don't splice the wires, you can use Reciever Wiring Adaptor #120 70-1121 from Cruichfield to bypass factory amp. Easy, but this will only give you the four speakers, I used the front and rear door ones on my 940T.

You could try splicing them, but with my radio (an Alpine CDA 7839) I just left the two dash speakers disconnected.
