Replacing Pirelli webbing - 65 and later seats 120-130

Hello all
I have a pair of 122 seats that Im thinking about using in my Duett. Looks like the seat track width is about the same.

The Pirelli webbing in these seats is shot and needs to be replaced. I seem to remember that IPD sold a kit to upgrade from the webbing to a later style wire mesh as used in later 140 seats.

Was this mesh available for 122 seats and is it still available?

Thanks
Bob

Bob;

I recommend replacing with all-metal...once! Like this:

Replacing Pirelli webbing - 65 and later seats 120-130

Hi Bob,

The usual suspects have the original material, but I replaced mine with 2" wide nylon web (used for all sorts of outdoor stuff). I cut it to length, and made some aluminum reinforcement plates for the ends and then burned holes through the webbing with my soldering iron and rivited them together. Works like a charm and cost $10 for both seats. It should also last a very long time.

Cheers,
Craig

And if you make the straps a little short so that the ends don't quite meet, you can adjust the tension for comfort with laces -- not only cheaper, but superior to the original.
