Leakage UP the bolt could be caused by pressure in the engine.

Check and clean the entire breathing system - even a simple pcv valve or a hose can become blocked.

Try the rubber glove test - put a rubber glove over the oil filler - if it inflates, your crankcase is not breathing properly.

I could be wrong, but I'll bet that Irv Gordon's mechanics used origonal Volvo gaskets without a sealer.
