No start situation 200 1990

Hi,

You seem to be circling my other post with the same symptoms that match of all the other posted suggestions.
Not hitting or even running on starting fluid is a big tell! Ignition issues has to be the biggest one and dry plugs is another.

Did you get to check the orange wire from the system relay at the point inside the AMM? I think it’s number five but it’s been a long time.
Did you go to Cleanflametrap.com? He has pictures.
Did you check the condition of the electronic relay behind the battery? Sometimes just exercising the connector there, like you did the ECU can have a result.

The CPS is a flaky apparatus and like the AMM, is basically not not testable. They go bad in weird ways.
Temperatures and moisture have been indicated as a cause for them to get flaky!
Only a replacement with a know good one will suffice.
A CPS is have the price of an AMM, that’s rebuilt, a CPS don’t even come that way and it is the first item in line to starting all the ignition and fuel systems.

I read where you unplugged the AMM with no result, so, the AMM is ok by the BRICKBOARD consensus of no posts.

Think back on all these posts and “check off” what you don’t have working. No fuel and intermittent spark at best.

Do it in an order towards the most likely causes told in these posts.
You will find it, or scare it into working by moving stuff if it’s only corrosion.
You are that close!
You are observant enough to pick up on details that suddenly change.

Good luck on this learning curve.

Phil
