hi arty b- thanks tons for that picture you posted. got to it yesterday. used a piece of emery paper to clean the contacts on both sides of the switch and tightened the ground wire. full on dome light then worked and continues to do so. can you imagine what a dealer would have shystered me for? bet he would have said only answer is to replace the switch plate at a cost of only $200. thanks for your help. will owe you a gin fizz next time I pass the creek by your abode. have to wait for the snow drifts to melt though. oldduke
