940 cowl won't stay down in center 900 1993

There are two items which can contribute to your problem. First, the cowl piece has a plastic part in the center which catches on the body and holds the center of the cowl down. If the cowl piece has been off and re-installed incorrectly it will ride up in the center. You may have to take the three cowl retaining bolts off, move the cowl forward and then push it back while pushing down on it in the center. See the picture below for the part if the cowl which catches on the body. It is outlined with the heavy rectangular block.

The second item is you may have to remove, or loosen, the two outside bolts holding the cowl to the body. Then push it back and tighten the bolts. Correctly installed the upper part of the cowl matches the fender as in the picture below. You may have to push your cowl back past where it matches the fender.
