transmission oil leak 200

Like David said, I would try snugging the bolts up first.

If the dipstick fitting in Punk's picture does not come apart easily, I would suggest leaving it alone. I've only tried on three of them. On two I gave up because they were too tight. On the third I got more aggressive, and though it did unscrew, the threads were totally destroyed in the process.

You can just unbolt the dipstick tube mounting bracket and drop the pan and tube together. You can't get it out from under the car unless it is pretty far up in the air, but you don't need to get it out from under the car to replace the gasket.

I am making a small leap of faith that this is true for a 240 because my trans experience was on 740s,

Charley
