In my entire life I have never seen so much American political divisiveness! In the U.S., the cities/metro areas are usually liberal and the rural areas tend to be conservative. Trump knows how to incite this political difference to his advantage. This divisiveness has existed for a long time but it has never been as extreme as it is today. Blame Trump for throwing gasoline on the fire.

Two barriers exist to Biden running in 2024. One is his age. He will be 82 in 2024. The Republicans have repeatedly accused him of being mentally incompetent. The other barrier is his low popularity at this time. His present favorability rating is 43%. Almost as low as Trump’s lowest poll number. The good news here is that can change over the next three years. It is my belief that Biden has battled a large number of difficult and complex issues in his first year. COVID and high inflation among them. If he makes progress (especially with the economy as that is always the predominant issue in American elections) then his popularity will rise.

Know little about Australian politics. Curious if I am correct in assuming AU tends to lean left (liberal in the US)? Sorry, don’t know the party names.
