It's been a few years since his note that he had been diagnosed with cancer. t seemed like not long after, things got super quiet here. I come back, and read, could comment more.

I eyeball the occasional Volvo to buy, but don't have the time to work on it right now. The BMW has been very reliable, it turns out. Hope it stays that way.

I know a few folks have passed, but I was hoping some have heard something about Sil.

Sil is very sadly missed.

I tried to contact Bob (Sil) by BB anonymous email back in 2016 when I went to New England including Maine. I was hoping to meet him and, perhaps, say goodbye as things didn't sound too good. But I heard nothing so that was that. He was a great contributor to Opinions and seemed a genuinely nice guy and I was sad not to be able to meet him. We can only assume the cancer got the better of him, sadly. Regards.

I really don't know but judging from the lack of posts by him I would guess yes.

Then again maybe he just lost interest. Everyone else seems to have done so.

I have checked for obituaries from time to time but found nothing under his name in Maine.

Twombo, here!

I, Too Have lost track of Sil. I Had a correspondence active in the first years of my Recovery! Sil was very Supportive of my efforts! My Decrease executive function, I Suppose, was partly to Blame!

I Have recovered. Much of my former self!! All Who Knew me, say I have Made a Pretty amazing recovery. Truly, my survival was miraculous. 80% mortality in the first 30 days is typical! Likelihood of functional recovery, effectively, NIL!

I have much to be grateful for! 6 years ago at this moment I was in ICU. Today. That lifesaving care, is being squandered by People convinced this is all just a Hoax! 250,000 Americans, GONE! MY Opinion? I will hold my tongue, and listen, for a change!


I Stay busy in my workshop, but My Amazon Sits. All of them, really, as I cannot find the secret path back to driving!

For now, I stay busy in my little workshop. Active in Model Engineering!

In the last year, I have taken up railroad modeling in 21/2” Gauge, live steam. I have one of the great, LBSC’s, designs, Purley Grange, on the bench at the moment. I am Building it as replica of a GWR 2900 Class, Saint, like the GWR Society’s Lady of Legend! God’s wonderful Railway! as they call it in the Mother Country!

Until his Dreadful “Plague” struck, I had several volunteer Positions going each week. One at the local food pantry, And the other, with a lovely group of local Ladies, putting up a weekly luncheon in our community. Center Soups, a Salad bar, and some sweet “treats” for dessert!
