NOTE
I used this cobbled-together mess to confirm my suspicions that the 4th gear switch in my 1983 240 has quit working. (1) Ground at the seat rail. (2) Test lamp getting power from the yellow wire on the OD relay (since the bulb in my dash for the OD indicator died long ago). Ground on the test lamp is the seat rail. (3) Using a nail to back probe the connection to the 4th gear switch and use a test lead to connect to a switch to turn the alternate ground to the relay from the seat rail on/off. (4) Using a nail to back probe the connection to the dash light/solenoid to provide power to the test lamp. (5) OD replay in its harness socket. (6) Small board clamped over glove box lamp to keep it shut off. (7) Switch in line on the alternate ground mechanism from the relay to the seat rail. This permits easily testing both with and without this in use.
