| The original Volvo 240 sedan (made from 1974-1993) is known to last long- mine only has 132,000 miles and is still going strong. In the past year it's had very minor adjustments/repairs made. It has AC, a super-clean interior, and a new Blaupunkt AM/FM radio and CD player. The previous owner replaced most major parts, including the alternator, timing belts, and fuel pump. The only original part on this car is the transmission and it still shifts smoothly.
This car has served me well as a commuting car (from Harlem to Queens, daily); it gets about 20 MPG and easily fits 5 people. It also has a massive trunk, excellent for transporting music equipment, luggage, etc., and comes with a spare tire.
The exterior of this car is in amazing condition (minimal rust, etc.).
