| Not sure, but I think this ad appeared in Car & Driver Magazine in the fall of '86. There is a 200 mile stretch between here and Las Vegas which crosses the desert. Seems like no one cares how fast drive out there. Last march, I was cruizing down that road in my 740. It likes to run at about 3200 rpm = 92. That's what I was doing when a new MB passed me - Whoosh! I just HAD to see if my old Volvo could still run with the pack. That MB and I chased each other across the desert that day at autobahn speeds. So, when I see this old ad, I think that's what I might have looked like that day. I believe it can fly! |
