| The gun metal grey 1991 Volvo 240 is a grey market from Germany by a U.S. Air Force officer that I bought in June 2000. It has the high compression 240 "truly interference" B230E. The verdigris metallic (dark blue-green) 244 GL I bought in August 2006 and has serious rust problems under the winshield with moth-eaten rust holes through the vent cowl portion of the winshield flange. The ferrari red 245 DL wagon I bought in August 2005. These are my fifth (91 Grey 240 Sedan {Saloon}), sixth (90 {li'l red} 240 DL Wagon {Estate}), and the seventh (1992 Volvo 240 GL Sedan {Saloon}). RIP my beloved 1975 Maroon 244 DL (B20F!), 1979 245 DL mustard yellow, 1976 242 DL, and my truly beloved, with all promises before it on the West Coast, a grey market import from Holland, a 1979 242 GT with B21E, that I drove to Taylor's Junkyard in St. Louis, MO in May 2001 or so. Rust got it. All with stick shift. All coupes and sedans (saloons) with moonroof. My support to the very best of manufacturing for any industry in any nation: Sweden does it with Volvo" The very best. Now, let's see how we can unburden Volvo cars from some degenerate American auto manufacturer. Ford, GM, Chrysler, well, always inferior. Well, we know what has happened with American manufacturing. Pandora's Box opened and never closed in the name of globalization. Socialism? See Section 530 of the U.S. Federal Tax Code. Now you know why millions of jobs go to India from the U.S.. And, per Section 530, it is tax freee to the the company sending my job to India. The United States is so communist: Giving our wealth to the rich and corporate. And the American people do nothing. |

| Rear view of the OL HAWG. Forgot to drill the fenders for the tail-lamps, on purpose. First incarnation of rear lamps. Work-in-progress, but initial impact is favourable. Wheels are 15x7" Dodge Mirada/Magnum alloys circa '83/84. 1" spacers on front to clear king-pins. 185/60 front, 195/65 rear, but still minor clearance issues. May not stay. Shares driveway with SLIKBRICK '77 240 (my daughters), posted 2 years ago in gallery. Rear nerf bars to follow, to maintain my sanity in parking lots. |
