| Coustic brand used "HS-522a" aftermarket 5.25" speakers secured to the stock Volvo HT-204 front door speaker housing.
Pulled 4 speakers from a salvage yard 740. The install is not perfect; the woofer surround shows slight distortion. Yet both front speakers work perfectly. I re-glued (Goop) the metal grille to the plastic cover. When the Goop cured, I pressed out the plastic metal grille a bit to clear the tweeter. Better!
The speakers were faulty the braided conductor leads were crimped to the speaker terminals. Solder, and voila! Pretty good at 3$ a speaker and a little soldering.
The two rear doors had some very blown single-cone 4" drivers. Replaced these with some used yet well working 4" drivers. I did not want to futz with enlarging the rear door factory speaker hole opening.
Yes, the image has typos so I'm a big fat rotten bastard, me and my RWD Volvo audio treasures. |
