Was having some issues with upshifting past 30mph, looked at kickdown cable, seems as if it's missing some things. |

Volvo 240 Taillight MADNESS Revisitation. 2015: Another Tail light Set for Repair. The bulb reflector body & circuit board side. You can buy replacement red lenses for the broken lens on the right taillight brake light right side. As well as the white reverse lamps.
These are Volvo OEM 240 tail lights made in 2002 as a pull from a 1988 Volvo 240 sedan in a salvage yard I pulled in June 2015. |

Estonian-made tail lights by the seemingly now-defunct LampsandLenses.com. FWIW, the markings on the actual lenses indicate 'Aldo' as the brand.
These are after 5+ years of use. |

NOTE |
I was replacing the heater control valve to correct a coolant leak and
in the process, noticed these two parts which seem to function together.
The one to the right, the black one is the one obviously damaged.
(ps this is not an actual pic of my 1994 940 standard engine)
There is a cable coming from it and an exposed spring on the inside.
Can someone tell me what they are called and what they do.
I've not noticed any drivability issues.
Thanks so much!

NOTE |
Removed old adhesive from this lower door molding with Color Tile brand "Adhesive and Old Paint remover" which I purchased ~25 years ago for a house project. Don't know what's in it or if it's still made.
Brushed on, let sit ~5 minutes, got most pieces off in long strips by pushing a putty knife underneath and lifting gently. It's probably not a product for use on plastic but the molding didn't soften or discolor.
In the past have tried oven cleaner, acetone, lacquer thinner, denatured alcohol, other solvents with marginal success ie. all required heavy scraping. |

NOTE |
The other rotors look good and clean. Obviously, this one is not getting any fluid to the caliper. The rust is so deep that I will have to replace the rotor. |
