I installed this new evaporator and then find that the hose connection is too far to the right to connect the A/C liquid line to it. |

NOTE |
The new compressor needs the wire from the old one to be spliced onto it's connector.
The new one is shorter and the pulley is a smaller diameter. It is compatible with both R12 and R134a, you just have to use the correct oil in it. |

A previous owner butchered a hole through each kick panel in order to install speakers. |

There are couple of blobs of black goo adhering the back end of the A/C evaporator core to the inside of the A/C box under the center console. |

The A/C evaporator on it's way out the right side of the A/C box. The lines are undone but it is stuck at this point. |

When I got into the center console to R/R the blower motor and resistor I found this vacuum that sits right above the motor, but outside of the blower housing, had melted. Might explain why some of the vents haven't been working... |

NOTE |
This is the final solution that I used to replace a rusted-away clamp on the downpipe-catalytic converter junction. A pair of 2.5 inch "converter repair flanges" pulls the joint together. A pair of standard exhaust u-clamps are what the flanges pull on. Total cost was about $21 for the 4 clamps. |

New converter repair flanges. 2.0" was too small, 2.5" slips right over the downpipe's flare. Autoparts store didn't have 2.25" |

AFtermarket piston installed. It has 2 seals, so stays centered and seals better. The part is actually for a 90's Toyota Corolla, but I cannot figure out why it's SAE instead of metric. Fits pretty well. |

I installed this yesterday and it seems to work very well, with better pedal positive feel. I backed off the adjusting rod a bit to be sure the clutch wouldn't slip, and it seems ok. No fluid loss today.

NOTE |
The aftermarket clutch slave cylinders have a single seal steel piston, which not only leaks fluid, but grinds away the aluminum cylinder, because it is not actually a linear motion.
