An advert for a 164. Too bad they did not make the B230 into the B350 or something. And too bad they did not stick with iron alloy cylinder head to match the blocks. |

My beloved: A 1991 Volvo 240 grey market import from Germany. Moonroof, M47II stick shift, B230E HC (high compression). She's got the real deal in that engine bay. Hot cam and all. All I did was replace wear items. She has the 23mm rear stabilizer bar from my beloved and departed 1979 242 GT (another grey market import from Holland) with the 23 mm front stabilizer bar from an 84 242 turbo at a junkyard in St. Louis. The image was recorded in Union, MO in June 2000 or so. |

A gorgeous 164e. More noble and more the car for the people than any BMW or Mercedes with an I-6. |

An image of a 145 with the noble 164 front end affixed to it. Another random 165 estate image from the i-net. We need more of these in the states, anyhoo. Just don't kill a Volvo to make it. Resurrect two to make one.
"Long live the Volvo 160, 140, 130, 120, and most certainly, the 240!" |

A grey market 1991 Volvo 240 with the coveted B230E high-compression truly interference engine. And moonroof. 195 psi in all four cylinders. Oooooh, you wish you had this Volvo 240.
"Long live the Volvo 240!"
Thank you, Brickboard! |
