After reassembly there should be electrical continuity between both termnals and the screw circular grounding point( dont forget to clean this area ).This is with the switch as shown ( door open).. |

Dont forget to clean the ground tab in the housing..Reassemble is pretty much the opposite.The plunger must be out about one half inch for the catch to snap back in place. At all times note orientation as you dissasemble and reassemble. |

Clean all surfaces , very light sanding , use dielectric grease on all metal surfaces , even the screw |

245's used as taxis in Europe used this location on the left side of the steering column to place an interior light switch. I used the right side to install the fog light switch as all the center console spots were taken up. I have the interior light switch on the left side of the column. This is an alternative to using the space for the cigarette lighter to add more switches. |
