I checked the air intake when I had it off to check the dist. cap/rotor. Accordian tube OK, I didn't pay too much attention to the air filter, just made sure there wasn't a mouse nest or anything. That once happened to me in an "82 240. Wow what a difference after that was cleared out!

I hesitate to blame bad gas. I changed the fuel filter in the spring and it's been driven 50-75 miles since last fillup with Shell gas.

Sorry to knock down all your ideas...
