Flametrap replacement time? 850

It seems to me though that if the flametrap is clogged up, this sludge stuff wouldn't be getting through to the airbox. Is that what you meant by the possibility of flametrap elimination alltogether, Moregolf?

If this is the case, the only thing to worry about is the messy (and oily) air filter, right? I'll be sure to check the flametrap as soon as I can, but I shouldn't have to worry about excessive crankcase pressure (and leaking seals) because it seems that ventilation is occuring, it is just occuring too good causing the undesirable effect of a dirty air filter. Does this assumption make any sense?
