Non-starter V70-XC70 1999

B5244S2 auto 5 speed 43K. Would not start today showing symptoms like starter motor stuck - click and lights dimming. After about 15 mins and a bit of poking about it did start and I travelled home as normal. Now just out of guarantee I am worried I have a frustrating problem. There was a previous similar occurence some months ago when a second turn of the key did start the engine. I find it hard to believe a modern sophisticated vehicle could have such an old problem like a sticking starter. Has anybody experienced anything similar?
