I use a heat gun or hair dryer to remove them BUT the heat can easily damage the plastic chrome. You can either use a good double sided tape to re-attach them or use emblem adhesive which works very well.
I assume you're having it repainted? If so and considering that new emblems aren't very expensive and much easier to install, I usually then buy new emblems. That's what I did when I had my rear hatch repainted.
