Looking at "newer' model S80

Try not to look at AWD and turbo 3.2L or turbo 3.0L engines. My concern is the amount of heat build up in the engine bay, which is quite crowded. The 5 cyl is no longer made, but the 2010 has better gear ratios for better mpg.

As far as I am concerned, synthetic engine oil is required. You can use 5W30 or 0W30, depending on how cold it gets in your area.

Maintenance history is required, and maintained 'by the book' at a dealership doesn't mean much to me. Dealers do not typically use synthetic oil and seldom do preventative maintenance.

Most of the problems these days requires a computer programmer, not a mechanic.
