Hello,
I had the same problem with a 1999 V70 R. First I replaced the oil filter canister, which your model does not have, and it helped a little. Are you using quality filters, or Walmart brand? Synthetic oil was always used in the engine. There was a lack of pressure at startup which concerned me greatly. The oil lamp would light for over a second at startup. You could also hear the big end and tappets during this time.
I decided it would be best to take action. With my knowledge that the check valve in the oil filter was functioning properly, I knew that there was high probability that the integrity of the pump inlet assembly was compromised. The tube or it's seals were leaking and cavatating the inlet initially. Removing the oil sump and replacing the seals solved the problem. It was not a job for a layman, not a casual cupcake and coffee connection.
