I do think it was high...especially for the 2lb of gas (one can is about $8 here, and he probably used a bit more than 2). I don't know what his labor rate is per hour. It's not uncommon to be charged $100 an hour. Don't know how long the typical replacement of the dryer takes, but I would suspect it is more than an hour. Many shops don't give 1 hour 15 minutes or 1.5 hours...they round up to the next hour. Suppose this shop charged $90 an hour and billed you for 2 hours, plus $60 for the gas, then the total would be $240. I hope this answers your question.
I hope that they added Ester oil to the A/C system when they recharged it. I believe it's suppose to be 3oz.
