auto transmission question V70-XC70 2001

Fellow bricksters,

Just purchased a used 2001 V70 with minimal mileage 30K, the car runs faultlessly and is an absolute dream to drive. However one question about the automatic transmission, when I am at a standstill and I go to accelerate it feels like the auto engages in 1st gear as there is a mild "connection" feeling in the car.
It is quite strange as the auto feels rock solid. i.e. no hunting in gears and no hesitation from forward to reverse etc either. If I gently start to accelerate I can feel it, however if I accelerate normally the feeling is markedly less.

I have had my trusted my Volvo mechanic look at it and he has given the car an exceptional clean bill of health. However, it intrigues me what this bump is when i go away from standstill. It is defenitely more of a nuisance value other than a problem that I am worried about, would love to know if this is normal or should I actually be concerned!!!

Anyones feedback appreciated.
