Hello BrickBoard-ers! I've owned a 98 V70 GLT (AWD) for the past 18 months. In that time frame, I've fixed the regular 70K+ problems (ABS module, tailgate brackets, air infiltration pump, broken door lock, ignition cylinder, timing belt, etc.). The wagon now has 99,000 miles, and I need a vehicle that spends more time in my driveway and less on my mechanic's hoist. (I am not typically an ill-mannered person, but this car makes me curse... a lot!)
I still like the idealism of a V70 and need your help! Can you tell me...
- Are newer V70s any better?
- Is there a less problematic model or year?
- Is a Cross Country better?
- Is it better to avoid AWD?
- Is it worth buying another Volvo?
Thank you for your input!
P.S. You all are invaluable to me... I live in a smaller community and the nearest Volvo dealer is 150 miles away. I often take my car to our mechanic and tell him how to fix problems after doing some research on the BrickBoard.
