A/C quits cooling with hard acceleration 850 1994

Hot here..about 95 everyday. Any time I accelerate heavily, like during passing, my A/C quits cooling. Turn off A/C, wait about 3-4 minutes, then everything is OK. Was not aware 850 had any type of cutout switch other than perhaps on compressor to protect the compressor from low freon level. Mine freon is OK. Any ideas? Thanks
