AC recharge 850

Hi,
Can i get some tips on how to recharge freon? Never done this before and i would appreciate some inputs...save some funds. My AC blows cold air when in transit otherwise when on idle i need to rev up the gas to blow cold air, an indication that i need to recharge freon.
