wagon rear wiper washer 850

Hi,
Whenever i use my rear wiper washer i always get water leak coming spurting out from the check valve near the pillar right above the speakers, w/c makes the washer unsusable and i end up air blowing the check valves and it would work then would give problems again after sometime. Do i need to change the check valves? I noticed there is an arrow sign on the check valve, where should the arrow be pointed, upwards going up to the tailgate or downwards to the bumper?
