This is my project car and first FWD Volvo. Been at other Volvo's since 67. Noticed the temp gauge is not functioning. Could this be the temp sensor not feeding info to the brain? Does it default to rick or cold?

Next question: this turbo howls, something I have never heard on FWD Volvo's. Is this a dying unit. Spool up is not the fastest.
