850R Heating up

I have an 96/850R I had the ECU upgraded the car was always runing just a hair hoter than normal..meaning the gauge needle was slightly higher that smack down the middle....acouple of days ago the car started to over heat getting all the way to the red line.... I quickly toed it home and chaged out the thermostat changed out the coolant and checked for leaks...nothing.... the car is runing just as it was before slightly above avrage...is this ok...or is there something else I forgot to check..the gauge isn't exactly down the middle...I guess I'm asking too much but I guess it's ok...
