Could somebody out there please enlighten me? In my ignorance I used to think that the above two sites pretty much listed most of the available used cars in the US. I have searched these two sites for a number of years, but now I notice there are hardly any private listings. All dealers. And when I try to access the classifieds of most newspapers for private listings, e.g. Oregonian, Denver Post, Statesman Journal, etc., I get blown off to cars.com. or some other car site. Did the newspapers suddenly discover they can make more money forcing advertisers to pay extra to list their car on cars.com, or did cars.com cut a deal with the newspapers not to list private ads? I can understand the used car dealers not wanting private listings on cars.com or autotrader.com because they are usually listed below dealer prices--no overhead. What's happening out there? Dick
