My wife was driving my '95 850 turbo (105k miles), she dropped it into reverse while it was still rolling slowly forward, heard a clunk, and lost power due to what seems to be slipping gears. We were able to limp the 2 blocks home with the gears slipping. This was not the "winter mode" problem where the transmission stays in 3rd gear. We had rpms with no power, and no flashing arrow.
This morning we had it towed, and could not get the front wheels to roll backward, even in neutral with the engine off. We're having it checked out.
Is my transmission shot? Has this happened to anyone else? What should I expect the damage ($$) to be?
