Loud motor ticking V70R V70-XC70 1998

My V70R has a constant loud tick that does not go away. It happened suddenly the other morning when I started the car. I put an oil pressure gauge on it and it is reading 80psi. I took the valve cover off and inspected the valve train. Everything looks good at the top end. The car has had meticulous maintenance and had plenty of oil when the problem appeared.
