ABS/Tracs, but I thought it was fixed! 850 1996

Hi, this is for a 855 Turbo, AT, 92k miles.

I've got the infamous ABS/Tracs light problem. In August my mechanic diagnosed it, removed the unit, and I sent it to ABS guru Victor Rocha for repair. He fixed the unit and sent it back. My mechanic reinstalled it, the lights went out, and all seemed right. After a few hundred miles, however, the ABS/Tracs lights came back on! Took it back to my mechanic but now the lights are out, and no codes are stored. Argh.

When my mechanic diagnosed the problem he ran the long-hand test (I believe he called it that) tracing the entire electrical path to and from the unit. All checked out fine, and Mr. Rocha confirmed that the unit's circuit board was cracked. So it really seemed that the unit was at fault. Any idea what's going on?

Last: this car has sat a lot since late August, which is why I've only rolled a few hundred miles on it since the repair. Is this relevant?

Needing some help,

--Dan L.
