Hi,
I'm looking at a '94 850 Turbo sedan with 125k miles; the asking price is $4500, and the car is, at least cosmetically, absolutely mint. New water pump, timing belt just replaced, runs and handles flawlessly (though I haven't taken it above 50 mph.) The problem: no service record whatsoever, and from lurking at this forum and others I know that Volvo trannies need to be babied or they die very young, and very expensively. The Question: without service records, is there any way to tell how well a transmission has been maintained, or how soon it'll need replacing?
I'm afraid I already know the answer... and I think that just by asking the question I've made it clear to myself what a bad idea this car is, especially for a recent college graduate who paints houses for $10/hr.
Okay!
Thanks for (letting me waste) your time,
Relyt
