Reattaching the black strip across the top of the windshield 850 1995

Was driving from Houston to New Orleans this last Friday night, wasn't even going that fast ( think about 75 or so) the Black rubber strip that is across the top of the windshield came peeling off, scared the crap out of me as it fluttering in the wind and banging the top of the roof.

Does it require some sort of adhesive. Look like it was just snapped in there. Do need a new one or can I use the old one with glue

any help will be appreciated
