Took it in the boot and the bonnet. 850

My 93 850 and I were car #2 in a 4 car pile up this past weekend resulting in some serious bumper damage: the rear bumper was forced down and the tailpipe took some of the impact, so now the muffler is hanging. The front bumper was also forced down, and the grill and one headlight wiper fell off. There seems to be no sheet metal damage and the car still drives, but it definately feels like a car that has been squashed. Thankfully nobody involved was injured, but now I have some tough decisions to make about the 850....

My mechanic tells me that Volvos fare poorly in front and rear impact situations like this and there's often a lot of internal damage that isn't initially obvious. My insurance company tells me it's totalled. This car was in fantastic condition prior to this accident - which is the first one it's been in.

Any experience with a situation like this? Any advice? Should I keep it and hope the repairs take care of everything, or should I start shopping for another 850?
