Just wanted to introduce myself... 850 1997

Just wanted to introduce myself...I have just purchased a 1997 850 T-5 with 109k in Houston. I'll be asking a couple of questions pretty soon! I just gave my '88 240DL to my daughter with 200k on it. It was still running strong. We picked up this 850 in nice condition for $5400. My wife hated the 240--complained of a rough ride all the time--pretty tough drinking coffee and navigating the roads around here--wasn't TOO bad once on the freeway though. I had the 240 for four years and put 65k on it, as well as two A/C systems at a grand a pop. A couple of years ago I replaced the Sears lifetime struts (I had purchased when the car was at 135k) with new Bilsteins--in addition to Bilstein rear shocks. Suprisingly, there was minimal difference in the ride. While the 850 has a sport suspension (I assume) its a very nice and luxurious ride. I have yet to really kick in the turbo, but I know I am in for a treat. Anyways, I will have questions from time to time and will hopefully also be of help to others as well...I've got to say, this is a nice car, but I do miss my old 240 black tank...Steve
