DSTC problems S80 2000

I have a 2000 S80T6 that sometimes shows the DSTC service required message.
Cycling the key sometimes fixes the problem but it always comes back.
The code read was steering gear sensor signal intermittent.
Has anyone had any experience with this problem?
Could it still be the ABS module that needs changed?
All hints would be greatly appreciated.
