strut top washer clearance 850 1993

I replaced front struts, spring rubber sit and strut mount and I noticed that there is about 1/4 inch space betwen large top strut washer and strut mount
bearing. Is this normal? I think bottom four extruded point on the
washer should sit on strut mount bearing.
