Cruise control faulty 850 1994

I have a 94 850 and when i set the cruise control, and I want to increase the speed, I push the button and then when I stop pushing it, it continues to accelerate. Also when the car is set, when it goes downhill, it will continue to accelerate. but does fine when going up hill. Anyone else have this problem, and what should I do
