Stumbling on Acceleration and missing on idle. S40-V40 2000

Hi,

I'm hoping you guys can help me. I have a 2000 S40 with 62K miles on it. Sometimes .recently more often than not, the car loses power when I'm starting off and even at highway speeds. I took the car to the shop and they were'nt a volvo dealer. He found a code p0014 and all he could offer to do was reset it. I put some fuel injection cleaner on a trip to Florida and it seemed to work okay although whenever I accelerated hard at 70+ it would still 'stumble' until I let off. The thing that bothers me the most is that it doesn't happen all the time and I think if it were the timing belt my engine would be toast right now. I'm under the impression that it's related to either ignition or possibly a fuel pump but would appreciate any feedback. I also thought it might be an O2 sensor but I was getting 35-37mpg on the highway on the trip to FLA and average about 31-32 on an average week. Sorry for being long winded but I haven't found much help anywhere on the web and I'm cheap.. :>

Thanks,

JamesH.
