Hi folks
I was in the shop this morning and the mech said my car was idling to high, I said that it is normal at 900 - 950 rpm and that the idle is regulated by the ECU. He said that as the car gets older the throttle body and spindle wear, like an old carburrettor.
He took a look and saw an adjuster screw that alters the stop on the throttle plate. I wouldn't let him have a go at adjusting it, as I am sure it was set at the factory, until I spoke with you guys.
Could the aduster screw allow the throttle body to close properly thus allowing idle speed to 800 rpm???
Would appreciate any comments.......
