The tailgate wiper on my '96 855 stopped working this evening. I was washing the rear window and the wiper blade stopped in an upright position. After I parked the car, I turned the switch on and "helped" the wiper back to the correct rest position. It moved as if the motor just didn't have the juice to overcome the friction of the blade against the glass. After I turned the switch off, I couldn't move the blade. On a later attempt, the blade moved about half a stroke when I turned it on and then froze again. Do I need a new motor? Is there any other possible fix?
Please help, I don't want to drop $150 on a new motor if it is not necessary.
